NGHTMRE and ZHU unleash hotly anticipated collaboration, ‘Man’s First Inhibition’
There seems to be no stopping NGHTMRE. Currently headlining the Alchemy Tour with Slander and their project Gud Vibrations, he’s known for collaborating with a wide spectrum of artists and having an excellent ear for hits. His track “REDLIGHT” with A$AP Ferg recently received a remix EP, and working with an enormous artist from the other side of the EDM spectrum like ZHU was the next logical step for his career.
Known for his mysterious presence and meticulously crafted sound, ZHU commands a loyal legion of fans with an impressive catalogue. However, his sparse desert aesthetic and smooth vibrational tracks are in stark contrast to the typical in-your-face bangers and intense production favored by NGHTMRE.
The blend turns out to be a pleasant one, combining the best aspects of each producer. Gritty bass and head-nodding, hip hop-influenced drum work combine with well-designed synths and ethereal vocals to create a great deal of motion throughout the track. Featuring a rap verse by Kidd Keem, the tune, “Man’s First Inhibition,” out now on Ultra Music, has all the elements of a cross-genre hit.
