Remix Radar 002: Kompany remixes SLANDER, William Black takes on Illenium, Zeds Dead offers fresh take on Oliver Tree, & more
The mark of any great dance music remix rests in an artist’s ability to put their own stamp on a favorite tune, all the while leaving the original recognizably in-tact. Whether it’s a producer whose given the enviable task of official remix duties or a newcomer striving to leave their footprint on a great artist’s hallmark track, good remixes are virtually everywhere. Great remixes, however, happen in the magical moment that a remixer finds that sweet spot in the studio. That’s why CE has scoured the interwebs in search of the latest and greatest remixes — all wrapped into one easy-listening playlist. This is the Remix Radar.
For this week’s Remix Radar edition, we’ve gathered up a few tracks that have flown under our radar this month. Those tracks include Habstrakt‘s remix of NGHTMRE and SLANDER‘s seminal “GUD VIBRATIONS,” along with Wooli and Ray Volpe’s remix of Zomboy‘s “Born To Survive.” Another nice left-over from last week’s mau5trap release is Mad Zach‘s remix of deadmau5’s “unjaded (ov),” from the remix LP, here’s the drop!
Fresh from weekend releases are Kompany‘s impressive remix of SLANDER and Dylan Matthew‘s heart-wrenching anthem, “Love Is Gone,” which is lightly retouched. Zeds Dead does a deep and heavy take on Oliver Tree, William Black remixes Illenium and Jon Bellion’s “Good Things Fall Apart,” and NGHTMRE takes on a big-name collaboration between Seven Lions, SLANDER, and Dabin.
