The Chainsmokers release third studio album, ‘World War Joy’

Grammy Award-winning and Billboard Chart-topping duo, The Chainsmokers, have evolved into a dominating musical force. Armed with a diverse repertoire of songs and pop-crossover appeal, the once bedroom producer pair have undoubtedly become one of the world’s hottest recording artists. Comprised of Alex Pall, Drew Taggart, and newly-acquired drummer Matt McGuire, who joins as live director on their live shows, The Chainsmokers have been wowing arena crowds on their massive World War Joy tour. Now Pall and Taggart have released their third full-length album by the same name, out now on Disruptor/Columbia.

What originally started as a four-track EP, the album itself has been teased for what seems like a full year. The Chainsmokers already released star-studded collaborations with ILLENIUM, Bebe Rexha, 5 Seconds of Summer, features with Ty Dolla $ign and bülow, along with their solo track, “Push My Luck.” Now Pall and Taggart round out the full LP with four more tracks. World War Joy brings about the wide releases of “The Reaper,” “Family,” with Kygo, “See the Way,” featuring Sabrina Claudio, and the long-awaited, Blink-182-bolstered crossover track, “P.S. I Hope You’re Happy.”

“These are the last 4 songs on the WWJ album and also the last day of the WWJ tour – thus closing out this chapter,” The Chainsmokers said on the release. “What an incredible year its been touring 41 cities and getting to work with so many good friends over the course of this album.”

Next up for The Chainsmokers is a new television series for the Freeform Network. Pall and Taggart are in the works as executive producers for a new music drama show called Demo.
