Kygo and Sandro Cavazza honor Avicii’s memory with new single, ‘Forever Yours’
During a trip across the US in 2016, Sandro Cavazza played Tim Bergling an early version of “Forever Yours.” The pair were on the road to Avicii‘s show at Ultra Miami where Bergling immediately started working on it on the tour bus. The song was famously debuted during Avicii’s set Ultra Music Festival 2016 as a demo.
Now “Forever Yours” has officially been released for all the world to enjoy. The record was unfinished at the time of Avicii’s death, but Sandro Cavazza reached out to Kygo to collaborate on “Forever Yours (Avicii Tribute)” as a way of honoring the late producer’s memory.
“That song felt special,” says Kygo on being approached about the track. “When Sandro sent me that song, I felt like that was the closest I could get to collaborate with Tim.”
Cavazzo added, “This version of ‘Forever Yours’ is a Tribute to Tim that me and Kygo have put together to honor what he has meant to both of us. The music we made together has changed my life and my perspective of music. He was Kygo’s biggest Idol and biggest inspiration and that’s what has made this Tribute possible.”
Net proceeds from the track will go to the nonprofit Tim Bergling Foundation to benefit mental health issues, suicide prevention, and awareness education.
