Calvin Harris launches acid house project, ‘Love Regenerator 1’
Scottish superstar producer Calvin Harris has been teasing new music before his long-awaited Coachella return this spring. Little did fans know that the music would come sooner rather than later. Harris has launched a new acid house project, titled Love Generator1, by releasing the first two tracks, “Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)” and “CP-1.”
“I wanted to rediscover the way I originally began producing music 22 years ago before I ever thought about how it might be perceived by outside forces. Just pure fun and experimentation with what sounded good to me,” Harris said.
The pair of new singles saw their wide release shortly after their BBC Radio 1 premiere, where they were named Annie Mac‘s Hottest Record in the World. The two new originals also mark the first original tracks from Harris since he released “Giant” with Rag’n’Bone Man a year ago.
“The records are inspired by early rave, breaks, techno and house, the music I was obsessed with growing up,” continues Harris. “In fact, I’ve done everything I can to make them sound like they’ve come from a 1991 time capsule. Every synth and sound used is from that time period.”
