Like so many other producers during the coronavirus pandemic, Illenium has taken to his Twitch channel to conduct live streams in lieu of his shows and festival appearances being canceled. Bunkered down in his beautiful home studio in Denver, the melodic bass mastermind invited fans to join him in “messing around making music” and a studio session with his best friend, Said The Sky, and his dachshund, Peanut.
In one of those live stream sessions, Illenium gave his dedicated fanbase a screen share view of his digital audio workstation (DAW). What dedicated “Illenials” immediately noticed and took to Reddit was that Illenium had a few notable, under wraps collaborations filed in DAW (click above picture to enlarge). Those were Ophelia founder Seven Lions, rising heavy bass act Wooli, and English alternative band, Bastille.
If that weren’t enough to get fans going, more files suggested collaborations with Kill The Noise, Dirt Monkey, Dabin, and, naturally, Said The Sky. Now, there’s no way saying officially whether these collaborative efforts will ever see the light of day, but there’s a very good chance. Why? Two reasons.
First, at least one of those collabs has photo evidence, A few weeks prior, Illenium confirmed he and Dabin were in the studio together with photos to prove it (see below). Second, Illenium’s musical output is almost inhuman, he’s hardworking and efficient, and he’s one of the most in-demand dance music artists right now. For these reasons, artists want to work with him.
With a highly-anticipated Illenium, Excision, and I Prevail collaboration due out this month, it seems fans can expect many more high-profile collaborations from the Astralwerks producer over the course of the year. Stay tuned to Conscious Electronic for up-to-date happenings on all things Illenium.
