Deep Tropics announces August festival lineup: Claude Vonstroke, CloZee, TokiMonsta, and more
As Coronavirus persists, several festivals have decided to push on despite unfavorable conditions. One such festival was the recently announced Deep Tropics, set to take place August 28 and 29 at Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Organizers feel confident they can provide a safe environment, and have released a small but stacked electronic lineup for hopeful attendees.
Multiple facets of the electronic scene, from house to dubstep to experimental bass, are represented by the lineup. A few artists include house favorites Claude Vonstroke, TokiMonsta, Moon Boots, and Medasin; while other genre-benders such as CloZee, Whethan, Khiva, and Yung Bae flesh out the undercard. The event is running at limited capacity, and organizers have consequently picked DJs and producers that are sure to sell tickets.
While the morality of planning a festival in the midst of a health pandemic is under fire by many, Deep Tropics producers have released a list of all safety precautions they will be taking and encouraging attendees to participate in. Precautions include masks, sanitizing stations, and temperature checks for staff, as well as arranging the park for optimal foot traffic flow. Whether any summer festivals will go on as planned is up in the air, but local and state officials have approved the gathering for the time being. Tickets and further information can be found here.
