Wreckno releases special Pride Month collaborative EP, ‘ROYGBIV’
Even in lockdown, Wreckno has been making tsunami-sized waves in the dance music scene. The Indianapolis-based queer musician is fresh off a gargantuan release with GRiZ in celebration of Pride Month. He is also a guest in CE‘s upcoming edition of Wide Awake Radio where he plans to spotlight LGBTQAI issues in the industry. Before that happens, Wreckno has released a firey four-track EP, titled ROYGBIV, just in time for Pride Month.
“ROYGBIV is my gift to a very dark Pride Month,” said Wreckno on the release. “Thank you to all the queer people, and all the allies that helped contribute to this project.”
The short player is jam-packed with collaborations with newcomers to the scene, including Wessanders, NotLö, Gardella, Koko Villa, Mad Pritch, and RUKU. From the EP’s heavy opening title, “Ass Throwers,” to the meat of the project with “The Püssy” and “Kiki,” all the way until the smooth stylings of the closing title, “Hook,” ROYGBIV is flamboyantly fun-filled from beginning to end. On all the tracks, Wreckno’s sassy vocals lead the way for full-on “bussy boppin” bass. It’s a trademark of Wreckno’s sound that is taking him straight to the top.
