One of the nation’s largest festivals had to face the music this year due as the worsening COVID-19 pandemic continues to sweep the nation. Like so many others, Chicago’s Lollapalooza was forced to postpone their annual event, which was originally set to take place this weekend, July 30 – August 2, 2020, into next year. As one of the United States’ longest-running commercial festivals and the second-most attended, Lollapalooza would have been celebrating their 30th anniversary. Thankfully, organizers of the storied event previously announced a virtual edition in Lolla2020.

This weekend, the virtual event comes to fruition with Cypress Hill, Imagine Dragons, H.E.R., Tom Morella, Tove Lo, Paul McCartney, and LCD Sound System on Thursday. On Friday, viewers can tune into Tenacious D, Lupe Fiasco, Metallica, The Cure, Mark Rebillet, Chance The Rapper, along with ZHU, Alison Wonderland, YehMeh2, G JONES b2b EPROM, and many more.

Throughout Saturday, Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Tyler The Creator, Janes Addiction, Masego, LL COOL J, Pearl Jam, and OutKast take the reigns. Saturday evening is jam-packed with dance music’s NGHTMRE, WHIPPED CREAM, Valentino Kahn, William Black, CloZee, SAYMYNAME, and Boombox Cartel.

Sunday kicks off with A$AP Rocky, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Portugal.The Man, Khalid, The Weeknd, Arcade Fire, along with Chicago-natives Louis The Child, 4B, Carnage, and Kaskade representing in the dance music field. In other words, this weekend will mark the biggest-name live stream event the world has seen up to this point.
