ZHU has held himself up as a champion of the live stream since the days of quarantine begin. Since his stunning EDC Las Vegas Virtual Rave-A-Thon set, which featured the house maestro in a dimly-lit warehouse surrounded by mannequins, ZHU decided to raise the bar on himself. The Los Angeles-based artist took to Lollapalooza‘s 2020 virtual edition with a breathtaking 50-minute set from Utah’s Coral Pink Sand Dunes Park.

Dubbed “Coral.Pink,” ZHU’s performance calls back to the vibe of his 2018 listening party held in Joshua Tree as the launch of RINGOS DESERT. Featuring a three-piece band, including a saxophonist, acoustic guitar player, and ZHU on vocals, ZHU takes listeners through his hypnotic house sounds, including “Desert Woman, Desire” with Bob Moses, and a few of his own IDs. He also samples everyone from Bob Moses and Rage Against the Machine to Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s “No Church In The Wild,” featuring Frank Ocean.

The set aired on Friday, July 31, as part of Lollapalooza’s four day virtual event. The Lollapalooza 2020 live stream also featured sets from Alison Wonderland, Kaskade, G Jones b2b Eprom, Saymyname, Whipped Cream, Louis the Child and more.
