CloZee, Big Gigantic, Subtronics, & many more grace line-up for Bonnaroo’s ‘Virtual ROO-ALITY’ Festival
The 2020 edition of Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival was initially set to take place in June. When COVID-19 had different plans for the live music industry, the event was postponed to September 24–27 and ultimately had to be called when the pandemic surged further into summer. Now that 2020 has become the year of the live-streamed festival, the good folks at Bonnaroo have now unveiled full details for Virtual ROO-ALITY, a free three-night live broadcast airing during the same weekend as the festival’s previously planned postponed weekend.
Bonnaroo’s Virtual ROO-ALITY’s programming runs deep, including brand new live performances, unique original content, and incredible archival sets captured at Bonnaroo’s home at Great Stage Park in Manchester, TN. The three-night event will offer new virtual performances from more than 35 legendary artists and rising stars, including Chromeo, Big Gigantic, Denzel Curry, Lennon Stella, Billy Strings, Action Bronson, CloZee, Moon Taxi, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Subtronics, and many more.
The festival will also be showcasing some of the most memorable performances in its archives, including recorded sets from The Dave Matthews Band (2004), The White Stripes (2007), Metallica (2008), My Morning Jacket (2011), The XX (2017), and a full-length streaming premiere of Beastie Boys‘ final live concert from Bonnaroo 2009, plus more.
Bonnaroo’s Virtual ROO-ALITY will be airing exclusively via the festival’s YouTube channel. The livestreaming event will take place on September 24–26 beginning at 4:30pm CT each day. Stay tuned for a complete schedule coming soon.
