Kygo turns up the tempo on Donna Summer’s 1979 hit, ‘Hot Stuff’ [WATCH]
Following remixes of Whitney Houston’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and Tina Turner’s “Higher Love,” Norwegian production guru Kygo is continuing his throwback hit hot-streak. The 29-year-old artist has gone three for three in stamping his tropical house style onto the late Donna Summer’s 1979 disco classic, “Hot Stuff.” This third remix comes in as the highest energy of the bunch bar none, as evidenced by Kygo turning up the tempo to meet Summer’s soulful vocals.
“Donna Summer is one of my favorite artists of all time,” said Kygo on remixing Summer’s hit record. “Her catalogue of music is brilliant and her vocals are unmatched. I am honored and humbled to get to work on an iconic track like ‘Hot Stuff.’ This has always been one of those songs that instantly puts me in a good mood and I hope that this version can continue to bring joy and happiness to people who want to celebrate the legendary Donna Summer.”
Kygo also released a music video accompaniment for his remix of “Hot Stuff,” starring Outer Banks stars Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes. Directed by Bob Webb and Lighthouse Films, the music video chronicles young love as the two cast members find themselves in a secluded private bar area to dance the night away.
