Sofasound release second bitbird album, ‘Waiting All My Life’

Bringing soulful vibes to the label’s catalogue since early 2020, young producer and multi-instrumentalist Sofasound returns to bitbird with his second album, Waiting All My Life, packed with beautiful, lo-fi sounds to calm down our busy lives.

Previously releasing diverse singles “You Been On My Mind,” “Dream Lover,” “Say What You Mean,” and “You Can Feel It,” the album is living proof that Sofasound isn’t just another lo-fi beats creator. With features from Hanz, Myles Jaeger, Floro, Akacia, Past Worlds, Falcxne, and Razlo, it’s no surprise the album turned out to be such a diverse work. From somewhat calmer songs to upbeat, playful house tracks and hints of R&B, “Waiting All My Life” shows Sofasound’s capability to work various genres, artists, and emotions while still maintaining his signature lo-fi, soulful sound.

As the storyline of previously released singles already conveyed, “Waiting All My Life” represents Sofasound’s realization and gratefulness for his recent career developments, Sofasound shares:

“‘Waiting All My Life’ is a project that represents so much to me as a person and a musician. I’d say the inspiration for my work throughout is heavily based on a practice commonly referred to in meditation called ‘Grounding.’ Being present and aware of this current moment, taking a step back to look at where I am, and being grateful for all of the wonderful opportunities I’ve been given. I used to dream about being in the position I am in with my music. I’ve been waiting all of my life for this moment, and I’m so so grateful.”
