Save The Date: CouchFest announces one-year anniversary live stream
Flashback to nearly a year ago when music fans were forced to learn new ways to live, work, and socialize in a quarantine society. CouchFam saw the pandemic climate as an opportunity and seized it. They took stock of how deeply artists were affected, how fans were itching for live shows, and how the need for music therapy was at an all-time high.
When CouchFest hit the internet waves last March, it became the first-ever 48-hour live stream fundraiser to raise money for artists directly affected by COVID-19. Never before had a show format been done on this scale and the event set the standard for digital events, with donation-based live streams exploding soon after.
“When we planned CouchFest in the midst of the pandemic chaos that was unfolding last year, we did it with the intention of pushing boundaries. While we grieved for the loss of live music, we set out to create an experience that simulated what we would experience if we were at a live show. We pioneered the donation-focused format that was adopted by many streamers in the scene and gave artists the ability to receive tips.”

One year later, CouchFest is set to host its first-anniversary live stream and the organizers are ramping up in a big way. Taking place over March 22 – 28, 2021, the celebration will be better and the party will be going even longer. Spread across an entire week, the live stream will consist of label takeovers, raffles and giveaways, artist drop-ins, and lofty bass music headliners.
This year, CouchFest will be raising funds through raffles and giveaways from a range of sponsors. With a $20 suggested donation, the grand prize raffle winner will receive a $600 bundle from SUBPAC.
Set your calendars for CouchFest’s one-year anniversary, March 22 – 28, on their official Twitch channel. RSVP to the event, here.
