Eko Zu & Kraddy tap ill.Gates, Opiuo, Champagne Drip, & more for ‘Like a Feather’ remix compilation

Label mates Eko Zu (Ian Hicks of Venice Beach) and KRADDY (Matthew Kratz, formerly the fourth member of The Glitch Mob) are local heroes of the Greater Los Angeles metroplex. Boasting sounds that build uniquely off one another, the two producers got together two months ago on the track “Like a Feather,” which boasts the impassioned vocals of KillWill. Eko Zu builds the song around his heartfelt melodies and ethereal soundscapes with KRADDY unleashing his hybridized hip-hop/dubstep on the song’s drops. Now the Mother Wolf Records artists have come together on a massive remix package for the record, out everywhere now on the Bay Area imprint.

Following a low-frequency, low-reverb, low-tempo rendition from Dimond Saints, which we we pleased to premiere on CE, now the album comes full circle with a total of seven tracks. The full remix compilation contains remixes of world-renowned artists such as Opiuo, Champagne Drip, Ill.Gates, and more of the Mother Wolf recording family. From Opiuo’s glitch-funk treatment of “Like A Feather” to Champagne Drip and melodic bass take on the track, and two special drum-n-bass renditions care of ill.Gates and Bachelors of Science, this compilation is superb on every level.

Flexing their strengths together as a label, the remix project promises to bring in a variety of genres from artists who have helped to shape the genres of glitch hop, leftfield bass, techno, and drum & bass. Listen to the full seven-track remix package for “Like A Feather” below.
