Who is Komadoze? Enigmatic rising bass weapon unleashes their debut ‘Chemistry 101’ mix
Here at Conscious Electronic, we love all things bass — breakbeat, downtempo, left-field, experimental, dubstep in all its forms, you name it. As the underground bass movement has begun its full ascendancy in the US, we’ve been keeping a finger on the pulse of up-and-coming bass artists the country over. As such, CE’s Rising Bass Spotlight seeks to shine a light onto the rising producers who’re honing their craft, galvanizing their movements, and attuning eyes, ears, heads, and bodies into all things low end.
The question on everyone’s mind lately has been, “Who is Komadoze?”—at least, in the Ravenscoon fan community on Facebook. Everything about this new and mysterious producer is up for debate. Everything except Komadoze’s supreme knack for producing dripping wet West Coast Bass, that is.
While many have speculated that the alias is itself a “Ravenscoon side project”—with Komadoze even taking to their newly-launched Instagram account poking fun at the speculation—the only thing that seems clear to this point is that the two bass producers are working together.
How do we know? Because in Komadoze’s debut mix, which went live last Friday, March 26, on SoundCloud, the underground bass enigma uses 32 minutes to unleash a vault of IDs with one Ravenscoon collaboration to lead off the mind-melting madness. Who better then to grace the ever-growing list of underground talent that is CE‘s Rising Bass Spotlight?
He, she, or it aside, whether Komadoze prefers the pronouns they/them is beside the point. Clearly an experienced beatmaker in the labs, Komadoze prefers mystery in much the same vein as 1788-L or Daft Punk with their digitalized imaginative personas. Armed with an enigmatic identity, a penchant for crafting bass weapons, and nothing more than a few lines of introduction, Komadoze is definitely here to stay.

Not much else is known by anyone in the dance music industry, but what we do know is twofold. For starters, that Komadoze has got an entire discography built up and ready to unleash of the underground masses from Coast to Coast.
