Comisar unveils rhythmic, free-form bass track ‘Astral Chatter’ ahead of new EP, ‘Becoming’ [PREMIERE]

Colorado-based music producer Chris Comisar, better known by his stage name Comisar, draws his musical inspiration from everything around him. Layering psychedelic bass over euphoric synths and spellbinding rhythms, Comisar has returned to showcase a new aural universe of palpable rhythms and carefully intentioned beat-work in his new track, “Astral Chatter.” Dropping early ahead of his Becoming EP, out next Friday, June 18, the track is a master-class in sonic euphoria and cutting-edge production talent.

Often incorporating field recordings, synthesized nature sounds, and lush vocal layers into his productions, the Comisar project is something that stands as a unique testament to boundless, free-form bass music. After gaining recognition from playing festivals such as Summer Camp, Electric Forest, Imagine Festival, and Sonic Bloom, the up and comer is only just getting started within the conscious bass music communities.

For the next installment of the Comisar project, “Astral Chatter” blends melodic bass elements with glitch-hop grooves in an idiosyncratic fashion. Starting off with dazzling pads and nature-inspired field recordings, the track instantaneously teleports the listener to a world of wondrous imagination and playful arrangements. Playing with sparkling arpeggiated leads over sultry, dripping bass lines, we at Conscious Electronic could not be more excited to premiere a first-listen into Comisar’s incoming EP.

We got the chance to sit down with Comisar who had some words to say about this upcoming installment of his project:

“Sometimes music feels as if it’s emerging out of nowhere, almost like it’s some sort of living alien transmission. Channeling this idea, I found myself throwing together drippy layers and resampling dirty bass sounds. After only a few hours Astral Chatter was mostly finished.”
