NOIZU is a certified Insomniac Records groove specialist on tech-house stomper, ‘Middle’
The groove technician returns to Insomniac Records with a club-focused cut made with the return of live events in mind.
House music aficionado NOIZU steps in with a club-aimed house single, “Middle,” arriving just in time for humanity’s collective reunion with the dancefloor. After inundating the brain with a healthy dose of nostalgia via his vocal-driven record “Summer 91 (Looking Back)” at the top of 2021, the groove specialist is sliding back into the frame with his latest offering on Insomniac Records / Techne.
“Middle” was written as a rendezvous of sorts, a warm welcome back to jam-packed festivals and club nights alike. Revolving around a slinky groove of the highest order, the pumping tech house heater finds the perfect middle ground between a sleek, open-minded vocal hook and an uncompromising rave-ready rhythm. Chunky basslines and mesmeric analog lines broker a deal that’s impossible to pass up, meanwhile, a slick-tongued loop negotiates itself into a place primed for peak time. The only appropriate reaction, of course, is to meet the track in the middle once it starts to plead its case.
It’s the second single the LA-based phenom has offered up this year, on top of the thumping rework he smashed out for Diplo and Sonny Fodera’s recent collaboration, “Turn Back Time.” The Techne-label head has steadily secured himself as not only a hot ticket in the thriving house scene, but also a frequent flyer within the Insomniac ecosystem. On the label end, he took a turn into murkier waters when he dove into the dark and driving groove on “For Your Soul” in 2019 on Insomniac Records.
His presence on its stages has been spread out across the globe, with previous performances at EDC Las Vegas, EDC Mexico, Beyond Wonderland SoCal, and more. Later in the year, he’s preparing to keep piling on the dates as he heads over to HARD Summer in August, as well as Holy Ship! Wrecked Mexico in December. With more new dates inevitably coming down the pipeline, Noizu’s “Middle” is already poised to be a hands-to-the-sky moment in his sets for the rest of the year and beyond.
