Ternion Sound enlist smith., ENIGMA Dubz, & more on boundary-shattering deep dubstep EP, ‘DUPLOC043’
Following their performance at The Untz Festival, and ahead of next month’s showing at Sound Haven, Ternion Sound are making their return to the mighty DUPLOC label. To mark the occasion, they are featuring four unique collaborators for the first time ever. The experimental bass music trio initially reached out to smith., ENIGMA DUBz, Opus, and LOST, asking if they would be interested in collaborating live over Zoom. What resulted was a perfect summer solstice 2021 release in DUPLOC043.
Despite everything going on and most of the world already spending an immense amount of time with friends, family, and co-workers on Zoom, the tracks came together smoothly. DUPLOC043 is a deep sonic exploration into masterful wubs, experimental beats, orchestrated collaborative chaos, and brooding sub-bass.
From the wonky waveforms and halftime measures of the project opener, “The Engineers” with ENIGMA DUBz, all the way to the smith.-assisted closer, “Heart Machine,” with its grinding synths, aggressive lashes, and changing tempos, each track boasts a wonderful synergy between Ternion Sound and their respective collaborators. DUPLOC got on board quickly, and now the project is ready to be unleashed.
DUPLOC043 is available on vinyl and digital release, and Ternion Sound is also dropping an exclusive pin reminiscent of the release’s artwork.
