The three-headed beast known as Ternion Sound was spawned at Infrasound Music Festival in 2016, when bass music DJs Apparition, Johnny Foreplay, and Nostalgia joined forces for an impromptu, back-to-back set on the Beach stage. The artists’ chemistry was infectious and immediately obvious. When the three reconvened at Origin-414 Studios in Minneapolis, it was clear that their bond is less ephemeral than the festival magic that forged it. The trio metamorphosed: a new monster was born. So today’s news from the trio comes as extremely fitting.

On the heels of releasing their deep dubstep EP, DUPLUC043, late last month, Ternion Sound now returns to popular imagination with a full live set recording from their Infrasound Family Reunion appearance. The event—which took place in Harmony Park, Minnesota on June 11, 2021—also featured EPROM, Of The Trees, TRUTH and a Deep Dark & Dangerous takeover, and loads more in the realm of immersive, left-field bass tastemakers.

For Ternion Sound’s set, the trio takes the Infrasound family on a full hour-long journey through 13 new tracks, including then-unreleased material with smith. and Opus on their recent EP, along with tracks from Kudos Records, Infernal Sounds, Deep Medi Musik, Deep Dark & Dangerous, DUPLOC, and more. Featuring a mixture of professionally shot and fan-captured footage, Ternion Sounds range and ingenuity are on full display in the video— not just in their signature sounds, mixdown technique, and stage presence, but in their mind-boggling visual animations, lighting design, and overall aesthetic.

The trio have also signed on to join PEEKABOO on the road for his massive Black Hole tour this fall, alongside 15+ other rising bass stars, along with appearances at Big Dub, Sound Haven, Wobble Rocks, and more.
