Monstercat apprentice Ace Aura unveils speaker-busting dubstep single, ‘UMBRA’ ft. Voicians [Premiere]

Following what can only be considered a breakout year, which included finding himself on many “Artists to Watch in 2022” lists, Ace Aura has carved himself a niche in the bass music world with his unique, chord-driven take on dubstep. Now the self-proclaimed “melodic riddim” artist, whose real name is Eric Seall, has returned to Monstercat Uncaged with his fiery new single, “UMBRA,” featuring vocalist Voicians.

The colorful synths, warm chords, and angsty vocals blend seamlessly on the track, building tension before the song’s initial drop. Ace’s use of vibrant chord stabs and bright arpeggiators complement the aggressive drums and gritty bass growls. With its high-octane energy and forward-thinking melodies, “UMBRA” is a testament to Ace’s meticulous attention to detail and mastery of his craft.

Originally intended to be a remix, “UMBRA” was deconstructed and transformed into the speaker-busting single it is now. Ace spoke exclusively to CE about the single’s creative process:

“‘UMBRA’ was the result of keeping the essence of a track I remixed and making it my own with the help of Voicians. We took the theme of the original track and turnednnnnnn it into something that’s uniquely ours. It was a very different and fun experience!”
