As a self-described “world-traveled military brat,” Devloe has Germany to thank for his strong electronic roots and the Bay Area to thank for his swagger. “Waiting Here” is the new single from the new producer, which pulls influences from Infected Mushroom and Tiësto, with tinges of Zeds Dead. 

The track itself draws its lyrical focus from a fractured relationship whereby feeling underloved and undervalued led to a devastating breakup. The deeply emotive and personal theme creates a unique track that fuses heartbreak and the thumping beats of future house. After reassessing his worth in this relationship, Devloe came to the realization that he was “done waiting here” as quoted in this new single, and he knew it was time to move on.

Musically, the soft airy synths possess a deeply reminiscent, nostalgic tone about them, which invokes a feeling of letting go of a broken relationship. Although the song is tinted with heartbreak, there are many other facets to the track that keep you coming back for more. With a drop guaranteed to get you moving, this multilayered track is sure to take listeners through multiple emotions in its three-minute length.

While Devloe may sound like a newer name to most, the old-school DJ spent two decades mastering his ability to create and mix electronic music before he decided it was ready for his first official release. He was first signed by Shake Music Records in late 2021 and his impressive catalog has landed various other deals with Tropical House Records, HighFiveMusic Records, Cracking Records, and more. There is a rich history behind his stage name that reveals a lot more about Devloe. His alias was born out of the years he spent living the life of a struggling musician led him to a job as a software developer, or ‘dev’ for short. It also refers back to his time as a graffiti artist when he was younger, using the name “Develop” as his tag.
