Malaa shares ‘Illegal Mixtape II’ on Spotify, releases new single in ‘Cash Money’
Malaa is back and it’s masks off for the Confession label favorite. As a follow up to his Illicit EP, Malaa released his Illegal Mixtape, in April of 2017. Now, after over a year-and-a-half, Malaa returns with an 11-track offering, Illegal Mixtape II — and he truly leaves it all on the turn tables in this second installment.
The masked enigma combines his signature throwback G-house sound with his gilded love for the underground on the pervasive house compilation. In usual Malaa fashion, the producer pays homage to dark, twisted house singles in Lucati‘s “All About House,” Malive‘s “Yali,” and Matroda‘s “Mr. Donk.” Illegal Mixtape II also boasts two of Malaa’s consecutively released singles, “Bling Bling” and “Cash Money,” with a new arrival in “We Get Crunk.”
Illegal Mixtape II is another rousing offering that extends Malaa’s reign as one of house music’s most sought-after deck wizards and a tastemaker nearing the ranks of fellow labelmate and Confession headmaster, Tchami.
