Martin Garrix releases first of five singles this week, ‘Breach (Walk Alone)’

As DJ Mag‘s No. 1 voted DJ in the world, it seems Martin Garrix cannot get away with too many surprises these days without fans immediately filling in all the missing pieces. And that’s what makes his global popularity so ubiquitous in 2018.

After making a cryptic teaser last week, Garrix confirmed fan speculation that he would be releasing five new tracks in an episodic EP to honor Amsterdam Dance Event, which takes place this Wednesday through Sunday, October 17-23. However, the titles of the tracks remained a complete mystery until Martin confirmed over Twitter last night that the leaked information around the releases were, in fact, accurate.

Now comes Garrix’s first release in the form of a collaboration with Blinders, which is all too aptly-titled “Breach (Walk Alone).” The track, which is out via the Dutch producer’s STMPD Records, falls right in line with the kind of high-energy anthems Garrix has become synonymous with. Featuring explosive electro-styled drops, uplifting lyrics, and captivating melodic breaks, “Breach” has been played lived since Tomorrowland and will surely be lighting up festival mainstages all the way up until Tomorrowland Winter.

Directed by Damian Karsznia, the official music video for “Breach (Walk Alone)” complements Garrix’s frenzied sound design with a fragmented, lo-fi aesthetic.
