Marshmello’s ‘Alone’ hits 1 billion YouTube views
Marshmello has just joined the ranks of Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, and so many more in pop and dance music to reach the one billion views mark on YouTube. While the list of artists to cross the threshold is seeming like less and less of an accomplishment these days — what with YouTube currently hosting more than 7 billion videos and growing — the feat is still a milestone that has been met by under 200 artists.
The video to send him over the edge is his pop-driven track “Alone,” which landed on Monstercat earlier this year. Marshmello’s YouTube channel currently boasts 20 million subscribers, which makes him one of 20 artists and the only electronic artist to reach that number. It’s all thanks in large part to the artist having his bucket in so many industries — from music to gaming to American Ninja Warrior to his very own sardonic cooking show. His music content has even been featured on the Disney channel.
Marshmello is also coming off a recent win for “Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music” at the 2018 AMAs, which was hosted last week inside Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre.
Hats off to the bucket head producer!
