Listen to Mat Zo’s genre-straddling ‘No Words’ EP, out now on Anjunabeats
Mr. Damage Control is back.
Before launching his very own label in Mad Zoo back in 2016, Mat Zo released his Grammy-nominated album, Damage Control, on Anjunabeats. Zo joined the Anjuna family at the age of 17, with a series of revolutionary releases which essentially rewrote the rulebook on trance sound design and groove.
Mat Zo now returns home to Anjunabeats with his new 3-track EP project, dubbed No Words. Responsible for some of the label’s most iconic albums, with countless catalogue classics in “Easy,” “Superman,” and “Rebound,” he’s pushed his bold avant-garde production skills even further in recent years.
Zo’s No Words EP signals yet another bold statement, with three genre-straddling tracks that bring together musical influences from around the world. A summer favorite from Above & Beyond’s DJ sets, “Meaning Lost All Words” has the french house sensibility that has always featured in Zo’s work. “Says Without Going” has hints of classic tech-trance, while “See It When I Believe It” is yet another modern tongue-in-cheek twist on the trance formula.
