Whethan delivers 8 shape-shifting tracks on debut EP, ‘Life of a Wallflower Vol. 1’
At just 19 years of age, Chicago breakout producer Whethan already has a résumé that includes Coachella’s Sahara Tent stage. His growing catalogue covers the full gamet of melodic/future bass, with wildly successful remixes of Brockhampton and Post Malone x Justin Beiber, along with his independently released Honey EP, which he released earlier this spring.
Now the young artist makes his Atlantic Records debut with his Life of a Wallflower Vol. 1 EP. The 8-track EP radiates with an energetic collection of chill, shape-shifting tracks that could stand on its own as a full-length project, including the previously released singles, “Good Nights,” “Superlove,” and “Be Like You.”
Boasting collaborations with some of his most talented friends, along with a few guest vocalists who lay down some catchy verses, the full EP is a strong statement for Whethan’s sheer musical versatility. Life of a Wallflower has remnants of summer and, at the same time, is the perfect soundtrack for the frosty, dew-covered mornings of fall. The collection is perfect for anyone’s workday wake-up ritual or even a lazy Saturday afternoon in the sun.
