The Chainsmokers add to their ‘Sick Boy’ EP with alternative track, ‘Beach House’
The year 2018 has been marked by generic exploration — at least for The Chainsmokers. In their their ongoing stream of Sick Boy releases, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart have dipped their toes into country with Kelsea Ballerini, nodded back to their EDM beginnings on a track with NGHTMRE, and got soulful on an R&B collaboration with Drew Love.
Their latest track to join the Sick Boy EP is titled “Beach House,” an alt/emo rock driven ballad with melancholy lyrics from Taggart, a guitar-led melody, and electronic elements strewn across its sound design. It’s a track that is littered with remnants of Fall Out Boy nostalgia, giving the radio-ready single a retro-pop vibe that harkens back to the early 2000s.
