The Friday Wrangler: Martin Garrix teams with Julian Jordan, Mr. Bill & Alan Walker release new LPs, Netsky turns to glitchy soul + more

Friday in the music industry is the biggest day of the week. Not only does it mark the beginning of the weekend’s many live shows ahead, it also brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s most visible artists. This week, there’s just so much good music arriving that we’ve gathered it all together for you in our next edition of The Friday Wrangler.

From REZZ and Blanke‘s highly-anticipated collaboration, to Mr. Bill and Alan Walker‘s new full-length studio albums, to new tracks from Maya Jane Coles, The Chainsmokers, 12th Planet, and more, here’s a playlist selection of newly-released tracks that shouldn’t be missed.

Following up on last week’s NOVA Remixes Vol. 1 release last week, RL Grime shares the second installment of his remix compilation, with a standout touch up from Valentino Kahn on his seminal track, “Pressure.” Astralwerks and pro gamer Ninja have finally release the NINJAWERKS Vol. 1 compilation album that has been teased for weeks now. The full deliverance brings six new tunes, but we’ve selected our two favorites for The Friday Wrangler in Ducky‘s bouncy cut, “Love You Just The Same,” and ARTY’s progressive number, “Velvet.”

Several new albums were released today as well. Aussie left-field bass producer Mr. Bill debuts his 13-track Apophenia on mau5trap and we’ve featured the title track by the same name this week. “Apophenia” is a smooth downtempo cut to ease listeners into his glitched-out, jazz-inspired full length album. Alan Walker drops off his 15-track debut album Different World, with a stand out track in “Lost Control.” It’s a feel-good progressive ditty featuring the inspirational vocals of Sorana.

In the short form world, Netsky‘s 5-track Abbot Kinney EP brings about a soulful turn for the Drum N Bass artist. Ookay blends house and heavy bass for a somewhat disjointed EP in Nice! and Gryffin delivers his long-awaited Gravity Pt. 1 EP that knocks melodic into outer space.

A few big name collaborative efforts also grace our ears this week. Martin Garrix gets together with longtime friend Julian Jordan on “Glitch,” Grabbitz and Pierce Fulton team up for “Information Overload,” 12th Planet and PhaseOne get heavy with their release, “Taco Bout It,” and Ferry Corsten links with Ilan Bluestone on an energetic stomper in “We’re Not Going Home.”

After Chromeo released the music video for their catchy track, “Don’t Sleep,” featuring French Madonna and Stefflon Don, the track now gets a Miami Sunset Remix from EDX. DROELOE releases their remix package for The Choices We Face, with a standout remix by Fytch. And VITALIC remixes Steve Angello‘s “Rejoice” from his latest album, Human, which is top contender for album of the year.
