Despite mounting animosity from the creator community, Soundcloud has just launched a new professional DJ software as apart of its Soundcloud Go+ subscription tier. The company has partnered with Serato to integrate its ever evolving music catalog into Serato DJ Pro and DJ Lite software. Serato will also offer TIDAL users the same integration.
SoundCloud/Serato integration will allow DJs to browse SoundCloud and play online music directly to the DJ decks during their live sets. DJs will need a swift and stable WiFi connection to utilize the feature live, although Soundcloud says an offline feature will be arriving in the future.
“Today’s launch is the first time DJs can mix and stream SoundCloud’s massive catalog directly in professional-level DJ software,” said SoundCloud CEO, Kerry Trainor.
Initially announced back in October, this is the first in a series of integrations between the streaming platform and a whole host of DJ software products. SoundCloud will launch integrations with Native Instruments, Virtual DJ, DEX3, Mixvibes, and Hercules in 2019.
