It’s been only six months since Diplo‘s California EP was released and he’s already announcing a new short-form project. He’s calling the EP Europa, although no release date has been assigned.

To celebrate, the Los Angeles-based producer and Mad Decent boss hog just unleashed a wildly original collaboration with French rapper Niska, titled “Boom Bye Bye.” The track lays down a signature Diplo beat while also showing off a new direction for Diplo. Gritty midtempo, large synth structured over the chorus, and the lyrical genius of Niska combine to push Diplo’s sound into a place we haven’t yet seen.

Watch the official music video for “Boom Bye Bye” below and be on the lookout for more single releases from Diplo’s impending Europa EP. Judging off how collaborative his last EP was, with the help of Lil Yachty, DRAM, Trippie Redd, Lil Xan, MØ, and GoldLink, one might expect the same flavor for the next EP.
