Psymbionic enlists ProbCause on fifth single release ahead of ‘Carbon Based Lifeform’ LP
Psymbionic is gearing up for the release of his second studio album, Carbon Based Lifeform. The Austin-based bass music extraordinaire has been steadily releasing singles off the forthcoming LP all month long, with the fifth and final release landing today. “Homesick” is an effortlessly groovy collaborative number with Chicago’s ProbCause, whose vocals have laced the tracks of GRiZ and Manic Focus.
“This tune is one of the oldest songs from the LP,” says Psymbionic of the track. “[W]e started it almost 2 years ago. Probably one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. My dude ProbCause went IN on these vocals, made it so vibey and real.”
Carbon Based Lifeform lands in digital and 12″ vinyl on February 5 via Psymbionic’s label, Gravitas Recordings. He’s been working on the LP for two years, referring to it as “by far the most ambitious project” he’s ever tackled. He’s also assembled a creative team to work on companion pieces to tell the story, which likely means he’s cooking up an entire graphic novel/comic book universe around the album concept.
