Woodstock 50th Anniversary line-up leaked via wire transfers: Grateful Dead, The Killers, Chance The Rapper, more revealed
With so many rumors and speculation flying around Woodstock, it’s a widely known fact that the golden year celebration has been split into events. On the one side, the more corporate event is taking place on the original grounds; with the original concept, under the intellectual property of Woodstock LLC co-founder Michael Lang, taking place just over 100 miles away at Watkins Glen International Speedway.
Lang has already booked a number of large acts for the 50th-anniversary event. While the line-up has not yet been officially revealed, Billboard has recently dug up financial details surrounding the milestone event, uncovering some key line-up artists in the process. Included in that list of artists who’ve already been paid via wire transfer are the following: The Killers, Chance The Rapper, Imagine Dragons, Dead and Company, and Santana.
“There’s always been lots of rumors around Woodstock,” Lang said in a statement to Billboard. “We have excellent partners and an incredible talent lineup of over 80 artists which will be announced within the next couple of weeks. We’re preparing a once in a lifetime event.”
Lang and his financial backers are counting on upwards of 100,000 fans to attend the event, which will take place from August 16-18. A proper lineup announcement is expected in the next two weeks with over 80 acts. Meanwhile, the Bethel Woods Culture & Arts Festival has already been confirmed to have Santana, Ringo Starr, The Doobie Brothers, and Edgar Winter Band play during its multi-weekend event.
