Stream Avicii’s first posthumous release, ‘SOS’ ft. Aloe Blacc, now
When Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) released the first single of his debut album, True, the late Swedish mega-star producer enlisted Aloe Blacc for vocals on what is now an iconic song, “Wake Me Up.” The song would become an instant chart-topper that would pave the way for Bergling’s massive global influence.
So it’s only fitting that almost ten years later, and after much bittersweet resent, Aloe Blacc lay down the official vocals on Avicii’s first post-humous release, titled “SOS.” The single, which is the leading single off Avicii’s forthcoming post-humous album, TIM, is incredibly ahead of its time, said Blacc of the track. It’s an up-beat, poppy tune with a somber message.
With feel good energy, bright keys, and Avicii’s signature guitar plucks, the song is incredibly layered, seeming happy and care-free on the surface. Underneath, however, the song is actually about getting the help one needs before it’s too late, as seen in the song’s closing lyric, “Can you help me SOS, before I put my mind to rest?”
Stream Avicii’s “SOS” below, the first single off TIM, arriving some time in June on Universal Music.
