Skrillex has been quite the busy man thus far this summer. He’s dropped off a recent remix release, a new mix, and now a four-track EP project from Dog Blood, his joint venture with Boys Noize. Their first release since 2014, Turn Out The Lights is a heavy-hitting, sonically dominant effort that is sure to be shaking up dance floors all summer.

Packed with blistering synth riffs and electrifying vocal chops, the project is a foot-stomping beast with a house music backbone. However, the arrangements rarely sound like traditional house or techno, and most of the tracks veer fairly heavily into experimental territory while maintaining mainstream appeal. Block rocking bass tones round it out nicely, and guest artists josh pan and X&G bring a rowdy flavor to the second track “4 MIND.”

Fans were promised plenty of new music by Skrillex earlier this summer, and so far, he’s certainly delivering.
