Excision & Wooli enlist Trivecta, Seven Lions, more on four-track ‘Evolution’ EP
Sitting as one of Excision‘s top protegeé’s, Wooli owes a lot to the father of headbanging bass. Excision has been promoting the Wooli brand since the launch of his Artist Spotlight last year. Since then, Wooli has collaborated with everyone from SNAILS to Seven Lions and Trivecta. He’s also earned a spot on the upcoming Lost Lands line-up as well as on CE‘s Top Artists To Watch For in 2019.
Now comes the biggest moment in Wooli’s career with the highly-anticipated release of his joint EP with Excision himself. The aptly-titled Evolution EP was originally meant to be a single track. Now fully realized, it is a four-track journey through head-thrashing bangers, soothing melodic cuts, and heavy dubstep collaborations. From the hearty dubstep opener in “Lockdown” to the beautiful previously released track with Trivecta, “Oxygen,” all the way to the closing Seven Lions and Dylan Matthew-assisted melodic dubstep track, Excision and Wooli take listeners back and forth between beautiful and filthy landscapes.
The Evolution EP is a statement-making project for both of the artists insofar as it shows off Excision’s ability to rest in the softer, more melodic moments that he is less known for. Surely, the release will spark more anticipation for one of Excision’s rare detox sets at Lost Lands, taking place in Legends Valley, Ohio, September 27-28.
