Remix Radar 001: The week’s biggest remixes from Diplo, Luttrell, Spencer Brown, & many more
The mark of any great dance music remix rests in an artist’s ability to put their own stamp on a favorite tune, all the while leaving the original recognizably in-tact. Whether it’s a producer whose given the enviable task of official remix duties or a newcomer striving to leave their footprint on a great artist’s hallmark track, good remixes are virtually everywhere. Great remixes, however, happen in the magical moment that a remixer finds that sweet spot in the studio. That’s why CE has scoured the interwebs in search of the latest and greatest remixes — all wrapped into one easy-listening playlist. This is the Remix Radar.
Coming in on the inaugural edition of Remix Radar are plenty of new tracks released over the weekend that have stood out above the rest. Spencer Brown is the first official remixer revealed for deadmau5‘s forthcoming remix album, here’s the drop!
DnB legend Annix has remixed Knife Party‘s title track to their recently released Lost Souls EP remix package. Notaker is on remix duty for Haywyre’s Panorama: Discover Remixes EP, which landed on Friday.
In the future bass arena, AO Beats remixes Manila Killa on his 1993 Delux Edition, while Anjunadeep mainstay Luttrell takes on Jai Wolf’s “Lose My Mind,” from his 2018 debut album, The Cure To Loneliness.
Having previously remixed Kaskade in the past on “Give Dem,” Diplo makes his return to house by touching up Kaskade and Felix Cartal‘s “More,” featuring Jenn Blossil. The move makes perfect sense considering how Diplo just launched his own house music label in Higher Ground.
