It’s finally here: Flume & Vera Blue’s highly-anticipated ‘Rushing Back’ is a quirky crossover gem

Flume has been busy having just about the best year ever. Not only has the eccentric crossover star released more music than ever before, he’s been using the spotlight to pull some rather cooky moves. From releasing his Quits EP with Reo Cragun, a “Flume Sounds” sample pack, and most recently a BBC Radio 1 house mini-mix, the Australian native still found time to let loose at Burning Man in the year’s most viral moment (and not just viral in EDM, but in the world).

Continuing along his release-spree path, Flume now delivers on his highly-anticipated collaboration with Vera Blue, titled “Rushing Back.” The pair have been hitting festival main stages with the track all summer long, most notably at his zany Lollapalooza performance where he was planting flower and smashing printers on stage.

The track is a signature Flume original, with quirky sampling techniques, skittering synth works, and verbose bass lines. An interesting addition is the use of a pan flute, which makes it’s way into the melody as Vera Blue’s angelic vocals glide into the spotlight.

When Flume promised 2019 would be the year of Flume, in other terms, he surely wasn’t joking. In addition to the new single release, Flume is also gearing up for his upcoming European tour. Click here for details.
