Amazon enters festival territory with inaugural Intersect line-up: Anderson. Paak, Foo Fighters, Gesaffelstein, & more
Amazon has not only conquered the internet as the world’s largest online retailer, with a stake in online music streaming via its Prime membership. Now the Jeff Bezos-owned company is staking its claim on the music industry, speaking to the larger corporatization of music festivals. Introducing: Intersect Music, Arts, & Tech Festival.
While the inaugural edition of Intersect is no Live Nation or AEG assemblage, Amazon has shown it knows its way around the booking side of the industry. With a diverse line-up that appeals mostly to rock, country, pop, and electronic dance music, Intersect boasts Kacey Musgraves and Beck on day one, with electronic acts Gesaffelstein, The Black Madonna, Jamie xx, and SOPHIE all gracing Friday’s portion. The second day sees headliners in Anderson .Paak and The Foo Fighters, with Flying Lotus, Kaytranada, and more on Saturday.
Intersect will also team up with Intel to present “Uplift: a drone light show celebrating women in tech.” The two-day affair is set to take place on December 6 and 7 on the Las Vegas Festival Grounds.
Tickets for Intersect go on sale this Friday, October 25, at 12pm PST. Fans can also register for pre-sale access for a chance to win one of 75 tickets or $10,000 in Amazon gift cards.
