Mitis makes his Ophelia Records debut with the three-track ‘Shattered’ EP
MitiS is the creative endeavor of Joe Torre, although his moniker is one that electronic dance music fans haven’t heard from in some time. Thankfully, MitiS is back and better than ever with his Shattered EP, out now on Seven Lions‘ imprint, Ophelia Records. Since the 2018 inception of Ophelia, MitiS has always been a natural fit. A close collaborator and friend to Seven Lions, Torre’s melodic bass style is perfectly at home on the label.
Following up his Ophelia collaboration with Seven Lions earlier this year, “Break The Silence“, Mitis’ newest musical project is a statement-making three-track EP comprising of “Shattered,” featuring RUNN, the Nick Warner-assisted “Home,” and “Mirrors.”
“This EP I felt a lot of growth as a producer,” says Torre of the EP in a press statement. “I stepped out of what I’m used to and really dug into the songwriting side of things – not just production.”
As a classically trained pianist, MitiS has built his recognizable sound through his combined proficiency in electronic production and his traditional musical ability. Referring to his own aesthetic as “New Age Classical,” MitiS’ dedication to crafting high-quality and unique music on his Shattered EP makes him poised for a wonderful return to dance music.
