Maddy O’Neal & Big G’s Dominic Lalli light up on new single, ‘After Glow’
Maddy O’Neal is one artist that has been on our radar here at CE for some time. The Denver local has recently catapulted herself back into the limelight a recent string of releases from her newest EP, The Rush. First, with an effervescent collaboration with indie-pop trio HU:MAN on “Take It Slow,” and now with a high-powered single alongside Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli.
The aptly-titled track, “After Glow,” is a brightly shining tune upon which the two future funk/electro-soul artists showcase their glistening chemistry and knack for punchy, upbeat sound designs. Lalli’s sax lines blend effortlessly with O’ Neal’s light-hearted vocals and robust bass lines for a refreshingly vibrant track with maximum groove appeal.
The track is a standout on the latter’s new 5-track EP, The Rush, which boasts three more newly released collaborations with rapper Mandy Groves, Ashley Niven, and Yasi. The underlying theme of the short player is fun, funky, dance-inducing numbers, all held together by collaborative, vocally-led originals.
