After an incredible Halloween run inside The Pelham Caverns, STS9 wasted no time in announcing their New Year’s Eve run in Atlanta, Georgia. The concept behind the band’s five-night hometown throwdown, dubbed 2020 Visions, is about planting seeds in the Sound Tribe community that they want to see grow for years to come.
“2020 Visions is about the future we want to create. It’s a homage to nature and a call to action inspired by Sequoia’s, the largest trees on Earth,” the jamtronica six-piece posted to their socials. “Each night represents a different stage in the life cycle of a tree: Seed, Sprout, Root, Rise, Return.”
While four of the nights are listed to take place inside Atlanta’s legendary venue The Tabernacle, the Rise-themed night (December 30) was left as a surprise. Now STS9 has pulled back the curtain on the special night that will take place at the Ravine across town, a venue which is equipped with a Funktion One sound system.
The best part: Tribe will unveil their first-ever Rave Spell set, which, like it sounds, will be an “all-improv, high energy dance party.” The intimate club set is a play off of their coveted Wave Spell set, which the band last played along their three-night stop in Denver this past summer.
Tickets to Rave Spell sold out within hours of its initial announcement. Tickets for the other four nights of Tribe’s 2020 Visions run at The Tabernacle are still on sale here.
