After a year-long bout with cancer, Rusko promised fans he would be coming back in full force in 2019. Now the prolific dubstep producer has shown he isn’t holding back with the release of his second EP release of the year, Genghis Danger. Out now on Deadbeats, the four-track EP follows the springtime release of MEGARAD on the same formidable imprint. Genghis Danger exudes strength and force with four more incredible tracks that bring bass-inspired sounds and Drum n Bass infusions together.
Rusko stays true to himself and his decades-long sound stamp on the EP, while also simultaneously one-upping himself. “Go Up” is an astounding kick-off to the otherwise bass-heavy EP. It’s a great juxtaposition to “One Family” which starts out sounding like a DnB track, but quickly goes back to Rusko’s signature sound. “oh my god” and “Bumbaclat” round out the EP with their incredible sound design.
On top of the Genghis Danger EP release, Rusko is currently on tour alongside Snails for the first phase of his World of Slime tour. The tour just kicked off with stops in Dallas, Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, with more TBA dates to come.
