TroyBoi enlists vocalist Adekunle Gold on new single ‘Tranquilizer’
After a well received OWSLA EP release with Vibez Vol. 3, Southeast London-born trap experimentalist TroyBoi has been steadily releasing one-off singles since launching his Nostalgia tour. The Miami-based producer has released “Malokera” alongside Skrillex, Ty Dolla $ign, and more, “Do You,” and “The Truth.” Together, the releases have sparked speculation over another possible new project on horizon.
“Tranquilizer” is a welcome switch-up from TroyBoi’s heavier-leaning recent releases into a more chill, reggae-laden landscape. That’s all thanks in large part to Adekunle Gold’s vocals, which pave the track’s forward momentum. Underneath it all are string-led melodies, steady snare kicks, and that signature T-R-O-Y-B-O-I sample that’s been marking the producer’s tracks lately.
