MUST LISTEN: RÜFÜS DU SOL deliver 10-minute remix of Foals’ ‘The Runner’

Grammy-nominated three-piece RÜFÜS DU SOL have released their first new track since 2018′ Solace. The indie-electronic act announced the news earlier this week over their socials, posting a video clip of them rising out the track at Burning Man earlier this year. While they were pretty vague about the release in general, sparking speculation over a possible Foals collaboration.

Today brings more clarity to the wide release, which just so happens to be a whopping ten-minute remix of Foals’ seminal track, “The Runner.” Characterized by chill tones, soft beats, atmospheric builds, and elongated progressions, the extended remix brings Foals’ indie-rock sound into the territory of the desert house/playa tech genre. While RÜFÜS DU SOL recently put out a Solace Remixed LP, “The Runner” marks the guys taking a stab at their first official remix in three years.

Foals is currently gearing up for the European leg of their Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost tour, hitting major cities next spring. RÜFÜS DU SOL will head out on their Americas tour around the same time.
