Anticipation mounts for Lane 8’s forthcoming LP with newest single, ‘Yard To Stone’ ft. Jens Kuross
One month remains until the highly-anticipated release of Brightest Lights. Arriving January 10 as Lane 8‘s fifth full-length project, fans are eagerly awaiting to see what the This Never Happened label head pulls out of his bag of magic. He’s already released four tracks off the album, including “Brightest Lights,” followed by “Sunday Song” and “Don’t Let Me Go,” then “The Gift.” Now Lane 8 gives the gift of indie beauty with “Yard To Stone,” featuring the vocal talents of Jens Kuross.
The newest single sounds like something taken from a classic Postal Service masterpiece. With hushed, lo-fi tinged vocals, soft horns, sprawling melodies, and a mellow bassline layered beneath. Still, there’s beauty and vibrancy in this emotionally somber soundscape that Lane 8 has laid out. Taken with his previously released tracks, Lane 8 is signaling an entirely new direction on Brightest Lights. It’s a direction that will be welcomed and praised come January 10, 2020.
