Cassian shares ‘Magical’ remix package on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue
Australia’s fastest-rising producer Cassian has unleashed a three-track remix package of his ethereal single, “Magical,” featuring Phil Slabber of Crooked Colours, more popularly known as Zolly. Releasing on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue, “Magical” gets the club-ready treatment in a triad of house and tech-directed cuts. Reworks come from Cassian himself, DC selector Enamour, and Made in Paris, whose underground sound has earned support from tastemakers like Joseph Capriati and Richie Hawtin.
Taking the lead on the EP, Cassian transforms his original into a darker composition with dramatic build-ups and synth-heavy rhythms that add texture to Zolly’s emotive lyricism. Enamour follows, known for his progressive tech-house sound, stripping back the track but maintaining its atmospheric tones and driving basslines. Fellow Sydney artist, Made in Paris, closes out the package with a moody take on the original. Her cut takes a dive into the deep-end with a pulsating beat fit for the warehouse.
2019 has been a defining year for Cassian, who solidified his position as one of Australia’s
leading producers. Receiving his first Grammy nomination for his work on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s hit single, “Underwater,” he also released two singles of his own, including “Magical” and the summer-starter “Same Things,” featuring Gabrielle Current. Cassian’s list of collaborators includes artists like Hayden James, Bob Moses, and Yotto, to name a few. Closing the year with a string of sold-out dates from New Zealand to Los Angeles, fans can catch Cassian this month across Australia’s biggest festivals, including Beyond The Valley and Lost Paradise.
