Southern California’s landmark summer kick-off festival, Lightning in a Bottle (LiB), is officially back on the map. The DoLaB-produced event is among the world’s top transformational gatherings with an always expertly curated line-up of electronic music. Headlining acts for their 2020 event, which runs May 20-25, include Kaytranada, Purity Ring, Sylvan Esso, GRiZ, James Blake, Bob Moses, Amon Tobin, and Nina Kraviz.
In a culture and age of recycled festival line-ups, Lightning in a Bottle goes against the grain. This year’s expert curation is no exception, arriving in the form of LIB’s most eclectic line-up yet. The Lightning Stage brings Four Tet, Jon Hopkins, Big Wild, Emancipator, and more. The bass-centric Thunder stage will host veterans DJ Shadow and NOISIA, along with Minnesota, EPROM, Shlump, Mersiv, The Funk Hunters, An-Ten-Nae, Frameworks, Tor, DROELOE, Dela Moon, Ahee, and too many more to name.
The infamous Woogie Stage will host Stephan Bodzin, Justin Martin, ARTBAT, Kyle Watson, Romare, Soul Clap, Eli & Fur, Kidnap, Justin Jay, Armen Miran, HOJ, Rinzen, MAGA, DJ Holographic, Caleesi & Sarah Kreis, Rybo B2B Lubelski, Galen, Subsuelo, Jesse Wright, Cody Lee, Shawni, and Roxy Venus.
Thursday’s opening parties will see sets from Desert Hearts members Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porky as part of the Desert Hearts Lakeside Launch Party. Joe Kay of Soulection will also host a four-hour set at The Stacks.
Lightning in a Bottle promises more lineup additions to be announced over the coming weeks. Tickets are on sale now on LiB’s official website.
