Frameworks delivers soothing official remix for jackLNDN’s ‘Unknown’

When jackLNDN released his second studio album, Thoughts, just last year, the project was lauded by fans and critics for how introspective it was. Surprising too since fans had come to expect bouncy four-to-the-floor numbers from the UK artist over the years. Now jackLNDN has begun steadily releasing official remixes from the LP, with Anjunadeep duo Fluida taking on the album’s second track, “With You.” Now he’s enlisted another one of his favorite fellow UK artists, Manchester’s Frameworks, to remix the eighth track, “Unknown.”

Whereas “With You” takes on a tribal, daytime beach vibe, “Unknown” falls right in tune with Frameworks’ downtempo soundscapes. The Loci Records-signee strips LNDN’s piano lines and takes the song into a completely different direction. While LNDN’s original feels like waves washing over you, Frameworks’ rework utilizes chiming synths, blossoming violin strings, blissful flute lines, and pulsating bass. While still holding onto jackLNDN’s intelligent tempo play, the remix takes on a whole new vibe of its own. The end product is tailor-made for the playa.

Together, Fluida and Frameworks’ remixes help make up a curious new album, Thoughts: Everything, which jackLNDN recently posted to his streaming accounts. Could there be a full remix package on the way? Or perhaps a full Delux edition of the album? Only time will tell. One can only hope it comes along with a few VIP treatments from jackLNDN himself. Meanwhile, Jack is in the studio working on a new EP which will see it’s release sometime in 2020.
