Ekali reveals release date + track list for debut album, accompanying NA tour, and 2020 side project
Over the past five years, Nathan Shaw, be known to most as Ekali, has built a powerful reputation as both a soaring producer and in-demand touring artist. He’s left fingerprints on Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late album as well as viral remixes of Flume‘s “Smoke & Retribution,” What So Not‘s “Gemini,” and Flux Pavilion‘s “I Can’t Stop.” On top of putting out industry hit after hit, Ekali released several collaborations in 2019 with artists Illnenium, YOOKiE, and 1788-L, and many more on the way, including a seismic Skrillex joint.
The start of the new decade marks the moment Shaw steps into his own light and releases his debut album, A World Away, available January 24. The new album will be accompanied by a full North American tour from February through March, with support from graves, William Black, and Juelz.
Ekali also took to Twitter to announce a surprise side project for 2020. Few details are known about this later album aside from it having a house music sound “with a different twist.” If this new venture is anything like the bombastic feel-good anthems Ekali drops on his crowd live, fans are in for a real treat.

The album will consist of 12 songs. In addition to three solo originals, the project is packed full of collaborations with Elohim, Nitti Gritti, and newcomers Au / Ra and mossy. Among the tracks already released are “Runaway” featuring Reo Cragun, “Be Fine” featuring Wafia, “Back to You” featuring Kiiara, and of course his budding Illenium collaboration, “Hard To Say Goodbye.”
